Intall OTF font on Ubuntu

Convert OTF font to TTF

  • install fontforge with Synaptic
  • create the script otf2ttf.sh:
#!/usr/local/bin/fontforge
Print("Opening "+$1);
Open($1);
Print("Saving "+$1:r+".ttf");
Generate($1:r+".ttf");
Quit(0);
  • run it
fontforge -script otf2ttf.sh <your_font.otf>

Install TTF font

  • place the generated font in ~/.fonts
  • run
sudo fc-cache -f -v
